Lake Paulinskill is located in Newton NJ, Sussex county. The boat launch can be a little tricky for putting your kayak in as the bank drops to the water. Paddling along the long narrow 174 acre body of water can give the kayak paddler a good workout. The Paulinskill River was dammed up to create the lake. The southern end of the lake’s shore line is owned by a private community. The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife acquired a large parcel of land on the northern end of the lake that is open to hunting and fishing. Lake Paulinskill is a unique place for your next kayaking trip.

First time paddling here. Northern end of the lake is very quiet and peaceful. It is part of a wildlife management area. The southern end of the lake is dominated by a private community. As always a great day on the water.
